What Is A Computer Programming Language

What is computer programming?

Computer programming is defined as the development process and implementation of various instruction sets provided to the computer to perform certain predefined tasks. Computer programming is easy if managed appropriately. There are many computer programming languages available so completing the right language is not an easy task.

English is the most popular and well-known human language. English has a set of grammatical rules, which must be followed to write in English correctly.

Similarly, every other human language (Indonesian, Germany, Spain, Russia, etc.) is made of several elements such as nouns, adjectives, adverbs, propositions, and conjunctions, etc. So, like English, Spanish or any other human language, programming languages are also made of different elements.

Just like the human language, the programming language also follows a grammar called syntax. There are some basic elements of program code that are common to all programming languages.

The most important basic elements for programming languages are:

Programming Environment

  •         Data Types
  •         Variables
  •         Keywords
  •         Logical and Arithmetical Operators
  •         If Else conditions
  •         Loops
  •         Numbers, Characters and Arrays
  •         Functions

Computer programming is a set of written instructions that the computer follows. These instructions can be written in multiple languages. Each programming language has their own unique way of organizing commands called syntax.

Some programming languages can help you solve the same programming problem. However, you should choose the language that you feel is relevant to perform your task. If you decide that your language doesn't match your business needs, you can always switch to a new language. Your skills in the chosen language will also be the deciding factor. Expected software system response time, a number of simultaneous users, security, maintaining, compatibility with the Web, Mobile, devices are some other factors to consider when choosing a language.
